This question opens a field of possibilities. And today I will not talk about goals and strategy before tools.
I want to talk about an important aspect when choosing a tool in the end, that is sometimes missed.
The tool environment.
Take WordPress. 100% not the cool kid anymore. But the environment is massive. I work with startups that build a complex service setup around WordPress plugins to test their ideas. Before they develop a custom setup.
Same for data tools. Specific services have a massive environment (Google Analytics, Snowflake, BigQuery), they are the usual suspects that get integrated first when new data services appear. This can be a huge advantage when using these tools.
When you benchmark, always check the tool‘s environment.
